Successful Conclusion of the 1st Nautique IWWF World Wakesurf Championships in Hong Kong
The inaugural Nautique IWWF World Wakesurf Championships in Hong Kong, which took place from 2nd to 10th November, concluded with resounding success, marking a significant milestone in Hong Kong wakesurfing world. Sanctioned by International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF), organized by the Hong Kong China Waterski Association (HKCWA) and title-sponsored by Nautique Boats, this Championship is also a qualifier for The World Games 2025.
With over 130 skilled athletes from 19 countries and regions, the competitions showcased what Hong Kong has to offer in wake sports on a global stage. The judging panel, comprising professional wakesurf athletes with diverse international backgrounds, ensured a fair and impartial evaluation process, adding credibility to the competition and reflecting the global nature of it.
After over a week of competitions in the water of Taipo Waterfront Park with the supports of fans from all over the world, Team USA took home the gold medal of Team Overall, while Team Hong Kong got silver and Team Ukraine received the bronze medal. Notably, the Hong Kong team demonstrated their outstanding performance in the competitions, and successfully brought home 5 golds, 5 silvers and 1 bronze, underscoring their dominance in multiple disciplines.
