The new MCY 80 has won “Best Layout” for 80-120 feet, winning against the Benetti 38M and Maiora 33M at the Cannes Yachting Festival on 10 September 2016.
Carla DeMaria (President of Monte Carlo Yachts), Fabrizio Iarrera (Managing Director of Monte Carlo Yachts), Franklin Heng, (Chairman of Asia Yachting), and Irene Heng went on stage to receive the award at the annual Gala Dinner during the Cannes Yachting Festival.
During the award ceremony that took place on September 10 at the Carlton Hotel’s beachfront, almost 500 guests came together to celebrate the best of the luxury boating industry during an evening featuring the highly-anticipated Yacht Parade that customarily marks the end of the Festival. The World Yacht Trophies panel comprised of industry experts and journalists that assigned the “Best Layout” trophy to the MCY 80 announced the award with the following statement, “The newest addition to the MCY collection features noteworthy design by Nuvolari & Lenard that goes a step beyond in luxury and quality. Specifically, the front bridge layout of the MCY is sure to become a reference in the category.” The new 24 m MCY 80 delivers pure cruising pleasure alongside an unparalleled ride and comfort experience for everyone on-board. With smooth exterior lines and shaped bulwarks which enhance the level of light and space across the main deck, the MCY 80 boasts a curvy, modern look without being too sharp or minimalistic. Signature elements include a class-leading entertainment foredeck and Portuguese bridge that no other yacht in this size category can match. The flybridge, an iconic characteristic of the MCY range, can be equipped with a Jacuzzi, large bar area and sunbathing chaise lounges to create an exterior hideaway that is as luxurious as it is intimate.

Asia Yachting Attracts over 200 Visitors to
Hong Kong’s First Brokerage Boat Show
Asia Yachting successfully held the region’s first-ever brokerage boat show from July 29 – July 31 in the Asia Yachting Showroom in Ap Lei Chau. The event attracted over 200 individual visitors throughout the span of two-and-a-half days from Friday afternoon to Sunday night. An arrays of entertainment and activities attracted vistors from across the region such as Europe, Thailand, and Mainland China.
The event featured 6 luxury yachts on water and led to the successful sales of a 21-meter luxury yacht. Simultaneously, Asia Yachting displayed a number of speed boats and yacht tenders both on the water and on land, including Scarab jet boats, Monterey sports boats, and the award-winning Super Air Nautique wakeboard & wakesurf inboard boats.

The annual Cannes Yachting Festival will be held between 6th and 11th September. The Cannes Yachting Festival is Europe’s leading in-water boating event is well-known all over the world. Operations Director
Martin entered the marina industry by joining the Aberdeen Marina Club in 1982 where he was responsible for the marina’s operations, boat lifting and projects for dock reconfiguration, boat charter operations and organising boat shows. Martin then joined the Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club as Marina Division Manager in 1999 and was in charge of 300 berths, 120 drystacks, and associated facilities. Martin joined the Asia Yachting team in summer of 2016.
Martin is fully licenced for pleasure vessels and merchant vessels up to 1600 ton and is an internationally recognized Certificated Marina Manager (CMM).

Local luxury yacht dealership Asia Yachting held Hong Kong’s first brokerage boat show throughout last weekend from 29 July to 31 July at their showroom in Ap Lei Chau. Over 200 visitors were attracted to the event which showcased speed boats from 16ft. to superyachts of 100ft, including the Azimut 100 Leonardo, Horizon 78 Elegance, Sunseeker Predator 68, Ferretti 630, Monte Carlo Yachts 65, and Riva 75 Venere.
Visitors expressed their interest in the special offers presented at the boat show, including price reductions up to $1,000,000USD for brokerage yachts and unique financial plans for smaller stock speed boats and wakeboard boats. The arrangement of special offers and price reductions led to the sale of one of the key brokerage yachts on the market during the Asia Yachting Weekend Brokerage Boat Show.
The 3-day weekend event included entertainment and activities for the whole family. On 30 July, Asia Yachting organised a private cocktail event on three brokerage yachts in Repulse Bay for VIP clients to truly experience yachting lifestyle. An arrays of canapes and special drinks from Bacardi were served as guests enjoyed the evening sunset. On 31 July, Asia Yachting held a family BBQ in the afternoon open to the public to further shed light on the brokerage boats to the local market.
